With over 110 million inhabitants it is the most populous nation in Africa (density 121 abs / Kmq), of which it is one of the poorest states, despite the remarkable oil resources.
The process of democratization and development of the country is strongly hindered by a continuous ethnic-religious conflict among Moslem (prevailing to north) etnie and Christian (prevailing to south) etnie, that determine bloody clashes.
Besides the management of the oil from the great western multinationals doesn't produce any wealth in the local population.
The poverty and the strong demografic increase make Nigeria one of the most dangerous nations for the western citizens.
The capital has been moved from the great port city of Lagos, to the most inside and less decentralized Abuja, that has had a notable demografic impulse (today over 400 thousand inhabitants) with the role of capital.
