Republic of the western Africa that overlooks with a coastal long strip the Atlantic Ocean.
In its territory englobes the Gambia, little state along the two sides of the homonymous river.
Its capital Dakar is one of the biggest towns (about 2 millions and 200 thousands inhabitants) and most westernized of the Africa, even if swarming with impressive shantytowns.
The town of S. Louis, with colonial still picturesque atmospheres and the particular quarter of fishermen, is the best place where the African traditions and the colonial tracks melt into themselves.
The part more authentic of the nation is maybe the Casamance, where many African uses and traditions remained still intact.
